Before this day, we had only known how to raise girls. Bryan came from a family of three boys while I had two sisters. When we planned our life together, three children seemed like a perfect fit for us. Family history predicted one gender per family.
In 2009, our small house was not big enough so we planned an addition. We were so confident baby number three would be a girl that Bryan had 75 gallon hot water tank installed. Yes, 75 gallons for three girls that would drain all the hot water each morning. The new bedroom walls were painted pink and periwinkle. Princess toys and everything that glittered cluttered the floors.
That all changed when Revin’ Roger showed up. His bedroom sparkles periwinkle and the girls share the pink bedroom. Captain America and Barbie play nicely together. The legos the girls used as baking props were repurposed for building. Revin Roger named all the Disney princesses and pondered why Spider Man is not an Avenger. (I would like to know this also.) Amazing Ann and Wild Regan grab all the matchbox cars for the dollhouse garage. Barbie needs wheels. Two girls and one boy blend together nicely.
Revin Roger is day potty trained. There was no need to fret on training a boy.
